It was announced that the first venue to host the Viva Florida traveling exhibition will be the Jackson County Tourist Development Council in Marianna, Florida.  The exhibition, Viva Florida: Florida Before Statehood, will open its doors on April 17th through July 2nd at the Jackson County Visitors Center, located at the Historic Russ House, 4318 Lafayette Street.

Florida’s rich history and cultural diversity is captured in this exhibit, covering topics such as First Floridians and early colonies, European explorations and journeys seeking freedom. As part of the Florida Department of State’s Viva Florida campaign to promote culture and history in Florida, this exhibition offers the opportunity for many diverse venues to share the story of the development of Florida over the past 12,000 years into the great state we know today.
