The Grove was built in the 1830s by Richard Keith Call, Florida’s third and fifth territorial governor, and later purchased by LeRoy Collins, Florida’s 33rd governor, and his wife Mary Call Collins. Managed by the Department of State, the Grove has undergone a complete historic rehabilitation to convert this private house and grounds into a public home. Exhibits inside the Call/Collins House and throughout the 10-acre grounds enlighten visitors about the impact of both families on Florida history as well as tell the remarkable story of the home itself as a lasting symbol of Florida’s diverse heritage.
