Attracting about 35,000 visitors annually, the University of South Florida Botanical Gardens consists of about 16 acres of gardens and greenbelt on the USF Tampa campus. The Gardens maintains a living collection of more than 3,000 of plants, animals and natural habitats. Plant festivals and other events attract enthusiasts from around the state to shop for rare and unusual plants. In addition, the Gardens offer a variety of workshops, including beekeeping, throughout the year. The Gardens house ongoing research in medical botany, provide opportunities for service learning to USF students and is a great way for student organizations to get involved on campus. The USF Botanical Gardens is a proud member of the American Public Gardens Association; American Horticulture Society Reciprocal Admissions Program; Greater Temple Terrace Chamber of Commerce, Visit Florida and Tampa Bay & Company.
