Operated by the Wakulla County Historical Society, the museum and archives are located in the 1949 Old Wakulla County Jail building. The museum contains an exhibit on Roderick Donald McLeod, who served in the Confederate army’s 7th Infantry Regiment, Georgia Reserves and moved to Wakulla County after the war. McLeod became very active in the United Confederate Veterans (UCV), the largest organization of Confederate veterans of the Civil War.

The exhibit contains his Florida UCV memorabilia, documents, and memorabilia belonging to his daughter Martha McLeod who was very active in the United Daughters of the Confederacy.
